Steve Tobin got Leeds off to a flying start when he scored afterthree minutes. Gary Kelly added a second after thirty-three minutes. Iso Budimir replaced Simon Oliver at left half and Marlon Billy replaced Richard Hepwoth at Inside Right at half time. Gary Kelly quickly added his second to make the score 3-0 after just four minutes of the second half, but the home team pulled a goal back after fifty-eight minutes when Jones netted. Richard Atkinson replaced Scott Cousin in the Leeds goal after sixty minutes. Just five minutes later Lines further reduced the arrears, but that was the end of the scoring and United finished 3-2 winners.
